
A teenager was left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday, with the driver fleeing the scene.
The serious accident occurred at around 3.30am on the CR166, shortly before the entrance to Kayl.
Two teenagers were walking along the road when a car travelling from the direction of Schifflange struck one of them. Despite leaving the teenager with life-threatening injuries, the driver continued towards Kayl without stopping.
The injured boy was taken directly to hospital. The road between Kayl and Schifflange had to be completely closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
According to initial police findings, the vehicle involved is believed to be a Hyundai i10, probably light green in colour. The car may also have damage on the passenger side.
