The Schueberfouer is back on the Glacis in Luxembourg City, running until 9 September and once again transforming the area into the Grand Duchy's biggest fair.

This year, Patrycja and Charlie from the RTL social media team set out to explore the opening day and put five of the fair's newest attractions to the test.

First up was the Dr Archibald Master of Time, a virtual-reality rollercoaster that promises to transport visitors into another world. The ride features dragons, robots, and a fantastical setting, which challenges your senses and perception throughout the journey.

No funfair visit would be complete without a classic, so the team then headed to the Wilde Maus, which has been run for years by the Göbel family. Owner Sebastian describes his attraction as "family-friendly, fast-paced, and underrated", making it a perfect attraction for any kind of thrill-seeker.

For visitors wanting a new perspective on Luxembourg City (literally), the King Loop makes its debut this year. This high-speed attraction spins riders in every direction, and therefore offers a serious adrenaline rush.

If being flipped upside down once is not enough, the Skater is also close by. Much like the King Loop, it keeps riders off-balance, and often upside down, for the majority of the ride.

After a long day exploring the Schueberfouer, visitors can take a culinary break with a paella from King Kong, bringing a taste of Spain right to the fairgrounds.

One final tip from the RTL social media team: you might want to save your meal for the end of your visit, particularly if you plan to sample the wilder rides.

The Schueberfouer is open until 9 September, which gives everyone plenty of time to experience the new attractions or simply enjoy the lively atmosphere.
