Even if the number of passengers has decreased significantly in recent days, the CFL and the RGTR are trying to maintain bus and train travel as much as possible. A new phase will begin on Thursday, said CFL director Marc Wengler.
Following the drastic restrictions of private travel, the level of public transport will be reduced significantly.
From March 22, the RGTR bus lines will no longer run on Sundays.
As of Monday, 30 bus lines will be operating at a reduced level during the week.
The CFL are also adapting the frequency of trains, which means that come Thursday and Friday, only one train per hour will run on line 10 to Gouvy, as will the line 30 in the direction of Trier.
TGV routes will be stopped on Friday, with TGVs to Paris or the South of France cancelled from Saturday onwards until further notice. Customers who bought a TGV ticket for a date later than March 20 are to contact the CFL or SNCF for a refund. As all CFL counters are closed, users are requested to make this reimbursement request via the CFL Call centre.
Starting Monday 23 March, the circulation of Luxembourg City buses will be adjusted to the reduced number of passengers.
Some lines will be suspended, while the frequency of other lines will be cut. A special schedule will be put in place, as published in Luxembourg City's official press release:
· Introduction of a special timetable from Monday to Saturday, generally providing a service every 30 minutes on most lines.
· Busy services (1/125, 5/6, 10/11, 16, 17 and 18) to run every 10, 15 or 20 minutes.
· Suspension of the following lines: 19, 20, 31, 32, 33, 70, CN1 - CN7 and City Shuttle Gare
In addition, the Biergerzenter opening times are changing: it will only be open at certain times and only to carry out certain procedures. All information is available on the City of Luxembourg website and on guichet.lu.
