In 2026, the 58th edition of the Diekirch Cavalcade will be held, organised by Eselen aus der Sauerstad Dikrich. Although the weather forecast for Sunday may encourage some to stay at home, thousands of revellers are once again expected to attend. Last year, around 40,000 people travelled to Diekirch, according to estimates by the organisers based on tickets sold.
A ticket is once again required this year and also grants entry to the Eldoradio After Cavalcade Party at the Aler Seeërei.
Unlike previous years, the parade will start at 2pm. The 52 floats will set off from Route de la Larochette and proceed along Rue Alexis Heck, the Esplanade, Place Guillaume, Rue de Stavelot and Avenue de la Gare.

Before, during and after the parade, numerous DJs will provide entertainment across the town.
From 12pm to 7pm, DJ Paul will be playing at Op der Kluuster.
From 12pm to 6pm, the Wirtgen Castle will host the so called Family Place, offering children’s entertainment, music and an alcohol free zone.
During the same hours, DJ Dee will provide music at Bei der Gemeng.
From 4pm to 8pm, DJ Hofmeister will perform at Place de la Libération
At the Aler Seeërei, DJ Majj will host the warm up from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, before DJs Al and Blueteck take over on the same stage until midnight.
At 7pm, the prize giving ceremony for the most beautiful floats will take place at the Aler Seeërei.
From 12 noon on Sunday, access to Diekirch will be severely restricted. Visitors are advised to use the various Park and Ride car parks to reach the town by bus. Park and Ride facilities are available at the Däich car park in Ettelbrück, at Heintz van Landewyck and in the Fridhaff ZANO industrial estate. Additional parking is available at Bloen Eck in Stegen, at Sauerwiss, the Lycée technique agricole and Bamerdall.

Taking the train is equally a good option to get to Diekirch. For routes and fitting train timings check out www.cfl.lu or www.mobiliteit.lu.
For those not yet in the mood for the cavalcade and who might need a little push to make their way to the festivities: here are a few impressions from last year.
