Hate speechThe Association for the Support of Immigrant Workers advocates for more sanctions

RTL Today
The Association for the Support of Immigrant Workers (ASTI) has issued a press release to denounce hate speech and advocate for more rigorous sanctions.

In the press release, the ASTI elaborates on its own experiences with online hate speech, most notably a confrontation with MP Fred Keup from the Alternative Democratic Party (ADR).

One year ago, the Chamber of Deputies debated the issue and most members argued that messages of the like were incompatible with the mandate of an MP.

Despite resolutions and motions advocating for an adaptation of the deontology codex, politicians seem to have forgotten the issue, regrets ASTI. The organisation therefore also urges the judiciary to revise its prosecution policies.
