Property prices in Luxembourg have positively exploded in the last three years, climbing by 5.6% in 2017, 7.1% in 2018 and a whopping 11.4% in 2019.
Despite the surging prices, demand is constantly high for housing, and there are some less scrupulous individuals out there to take advantage of the situation. Here are some of this year's examples, collected by our colleagues at 5Minutes.

At first glance the house in Boxhorn, near Clervaux, advertised in January, sounds like a bargain. The advert describes a large semi-detached home, 240 square metres, five bedrooms, surrounded by greenery, all for the price of just €195,000. The catch? It doesn't have a roof. Or anything much, beyond four walls, making it a particularly expensive renovation project. Unsurprisingly, it still appears to be on the market almost a year later.

Users on the social media network Reddit were enraged when this tiny 33 square metre studio flat was placed on the market for a monthly rate of €1,800. Although Limpertsberg is a desirable area, the average studio cost is closer to €1,000 per month. First published in August, the studio is still available...

No, that is not a typo.
In case you hadn't noticed, the car is king in Luxembourg - as evidenced by the country holding the European record for number of cars per inhabitant. Obviously space is required to park all these cars, and garages are at a premium... but €250,000 might be a bit of a stretch?
Not so for this ramshackle garage in Steinsel, which was priced at roughly the same value as a small house. One could purchase 22 garages for the same price in Nancy or Meurthe-et-Moselle...

If you have €8,850,000 to spend on a new house, generally you'd expect a minimum of space between your home and the neighbours. You presumably would also expect the new house to be ready to live in...
This semi-detached home in Dudelange, however, is listed for nearly €9,000,000 with "major completion work" required. Even if the 230 square metre house could be divided into apartments, it certainly is not cheap. It should also be noted that for this price, you could purchase the castle in Wintrange for a mere €5,200,000, and have change left over!
