Luzxembourg's Minister of Health defended herself and her ministry against claims that they admitted to a lack of capacities in place to properly trace infections.
The director of the National Health Authority, Jean-Claude Schmit, stated last week that contact tracing was not entirely possible anymore. Lenert did not want to let this statement go uncommented: "I have heard or read somewhere this morning that we have admitted our inability to properly perform contact tracing. This is completely incorrect!"
The minister stated that "on the contrary", efforts within the tracing task forces had been ramped up "from zero to a hundred" as fast as possible.
Lenert pointed out that the ministry is constantly on the lookout for new people to put on the job: "And even if we were concerned for 2-3 days because we were surprised by those (higher) figures, we definitely have the situation under control".
