RTL Today
In a response to a parliamentary question submitted by ADR MP Jeff Engelen, Minister of Agriculture Romain Schneider and Minister for the Environment Carole Dieschbourg revealed that the use of the toxic herbicide glyphosate has gone down in Luxembourg.

According to statistics, around 13,000 kilograms of the toxic herbicide were sprayed in Luxembourgish fields in 2016. This marks a decrease of 4,000 kilograms compared to 2011.

Engelen also enquired as to how much glyphosate is used for public spaces. In the last ten years, the CFL has purchased around 10,500 litres of Roundup, the trade name of glyphosate. The ministers reminded Engelen that the use of spray herbicides has been banned on green spaces in municipalities since 2016.
