The authorities have noted a recent increase in communal cellars an garages and have published some recommendations for residents to protect their property.
These recommendations include ensuring you lock your cellar or garage, securing high value objects (such as bikes or machinery) separately. Other recommendations are not to leave high value objects in your cars and ensuring no strangers enter communal garages behind you. In order to do so, the police recommend verifying that communal garage doors function properly and quickly.
If you also notice a stranger near your home, go talk to them and ask them what they're doing. Finally, the police recommend calling them on 113 if you notice a suspicious person.
