On Thursday, an elderly person was robbed at around 2pm. in rue du Curé in Luxembourg City. The next day, a second elderly victim was targeted, also around 2pm in rue André Duchscher near the station.
The perpetrator managed to gain entry into his victims' homes by posing as a person working on a site near the house. Each time, he claimed that a technical problem had been detected in the house and that he was there to find a solution.
While the residents lowered their guard inside the house, the thief took the opportunity to steal valuables, including jewellery, before leaving the premises. No one was injured in these burglaries.
Police established from the testimonies that the same person committed the thefts. The description of the man is as follows
A man of Mediterranean origin in his 40s, French-speaking and of slim build. He had black hair styled with gel, a neat appearance and he was also said to be very fragrant. He wore a suit with a light blue jacket, a light shirt and light trousers.
