Police carried out large-scale drug controls in the Gare district on 3, 5, and 7 August, focusing their efforts around Hollerich Street.

The operations were conducted by the judicial police together with officers from the Bonnevoie, Gare-Hollerich, and Gasperich police stations.

These checks resulted in the arrest of three suspected drug dealers. Two were reportedly caught in the act of selling drugs, while the third is believed to be a so-called 'bodypacker', meaning a person who swallows drug packets to transport them internally.

A scan confirmed this suspicion. All three suspects were detained on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and brought before the investigating judge.

In a separate operation in Mondorf-les-Bains on 6 August, police arrested a man who was subject to a European arrest warrant issued by the Portuguese authorities.

The individual is wanted in connection with drug offences and has an outstanding prison sentence of two years and nine months to serve in Portugal. Extradition proceedings have been initiated for his transfer to the Portuguese police.
