At around 3.50pm, a motorist lost control of her vehicle and drove on to the verge, before spinning into the opposite lane and hitting an oncoming car. The first car turned over on its roof and hit a third car travelling in the opposite direction. Fortunately, occupants of the latter car escaped without injury.
Both drivers of the other two cars and a passenger from the first suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for further checks and treatment.
