The Food Safety Unit is warning consumers about the risk of contracting hepatitis A from a frozen fruitberry mix.

Luxembourg Food Safety Unit is recalling the following product: Ardo’s ‘Fruitberry Mix’ (weight: 1 kilogramme), with an MDD of 11 November 2024. (batch: 58622131).

The product is sold at Auchan, Massen, Orangerie, Pall Center, and Cora Concorde in Luxembourg (it cannot be excluded that other distributors may also have sold the product).

As the authorities point out, “Hepatitis A symptoms can be minor or severe: depending on the case, patients may have fever, a sensation of malaise, lack of appetite, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach discomfort, dark urine, and jaundice (yellow colouring of the eyes and skin). Not everyone who is infected experiences all of these symptoms at once, and they usually develop within 14-28 days.”
