Despite pandemicTram should arrive in Gare quarter on time

RTL Today
Minister of Mobility and Public Works François Bausch clarified the situation around the construction site as a reaction to a parliamentary inquiry by Déi Gréng deputy François Benoy.

The tram will arrive at the capital's central station according to schedule, meaning that the Gare quarter will be connected to the place de l'Étoile before the end of the year.

A partial opening of the tracks up to the place de Paris is not envisioned, however.

Minister Bausch emphasised that the cycling lane alongside the tracks would open in January. He acknowledged that the timing was ambitious, but considers the plans achievable. The schedule further envisions connecting the tracks to Bonnevoie by summer 2022, and to the Cloche d'Or by 2023.

The extension between Kirchberg and Findel airport has also begun, with constructions on the bypassing bridge set to start next year.

The site between Gare and the plateau du Saint-Esprit has also advanced significantly, the pont Adolph set to reopen completely in 2021. The cycling lane will already be accessible next month.
