Police arrested a burglary suspect caught in the act on Rue Rudi Herber in Howald in the early hours of Monday, while a chain snatcher was detained by his target and bystanders at Place de la Gare.

At around 4.30am, police received a report of a burglary on Rue Rudi Herber in Howald. Initial reports indicated that a basement window had been broken. When officers arrived, a suspect was found inside the property, along with stolen items. He was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor's office and brought before an examining magistrate shortly afterwards.

Overnight into Monday, a man had a chain ripped from his neck on Place de la Gare in Luxembourg City. Shortly before that, the victim and the alleged perpetrator had crossed paths. Moments after grabbing the chain, the man made off on foot. The victim and those with him managed to catch up with the man on Rue du Fort Neipperg and to hold him there until police arrived. On the orders of the public prosecutor's office, the alleged perpetrator was arrested and appeared before an examining magistrate on Monday morning.
