Police were called to the area at 8pm after two men were embroiled in a physical fight, leaving one injured. Officers arrived at the scene to find one person lying unconscious with a head wound on Route de Thionville. He was treated on the spot by paramedics while officers identified the perpetrator. It transpired that the injured party, who was drunk, had attempted to attack a man with a glass bottle, before the latter punched him. He then fell to the ground and was knocked unconscious.
At 8.45pm police were called to the Gare area once again as four people were involved in a brawl on Rue du Fort Neipperg. One of the four accused the others of stealing his wallet during the fight, sparking a search of the other perpetrators. Police found a small quantity of cocaine among one of the men’s possessions. A short time later, the lost wallet was located in a nearby side road.
