At about 7.30pm police officers tried to pull over the driver/rider of an electric scooter on route d'Esch in Belvaux. Once the man spotted the officers, however, he tried to escape.
The police officers gave chase and finally managed to immobilise the man near rue Henri Tudor. While handling the now scooterless fugitive, officers noticed a strong cannabis smell.
After a small pouch containing the illegal substance was found in one of the man's pockets, he was charged with possession.
Police were also called to assess two damaged cars stationed in a car park on the rue du Brill in Foetz.
A man had apparently damaged them only a short time earlier before fleeing – despite having a flat tire on his own vehicle.
During his escape, the culprit hit a tree as well as a number of signs on a roundabout before continuing towards Mondercange.
He finally lost control of his vehicle near the exit on the A4 towards Luxembourg City, and his escape came to an abrupt end when he crashed his car into the wall of a building on the other side of the road.
An alcohol test came back positive, but under 1.2 per mille, and the man was fined.
On Monday afternoon at about 3pm, a police patrol managed to locate a car as well its driver in the car park of a shopping centre in Remerschen.
The individual was intoxicated and had caused two accidents earlier that same day.
His driving licence was confiscated on the spot, and he received a temporary driving ban.
