At around 7.30pm in Luxembourg City, two teenagers were attacked by '10 to 15 young men', according to the police report. Both victims were thrown to the ground and beaten.
The police launched a search operation, which saw them track down and detain six people.
After checking with the victims, one individual was arrested, but the others were released since it seemed that they "did not participate in the attack or were not at the scene at the time of the attack," the police explained.
A report was drawn up and the victims' wallets, stolen during the assault, were returned to them.
Later on in the night, a fight broke out between two men and a group of youths at a petrol station in Rombach-Martelange at around 2.40 am. All involved parties had indulged too much in alcohol and provoked each other. The different parties had riled each other up so much to the point that one of the men began punching one of the youths inside the Route d'Arlon petrol station. The petrol station's wares were also damaged in the brawl.
By the end of the fight, the man had been knocked out and the teenagers fled the scene. The man was taken to hospital for an overnight stay and submitted a report.
