The Grand Ducal police encountered two motorists driving whilst under the influence on Thursday.

At 7.30pm, police were alerted to a motorist with a heavily damaged vehicle in a car park in Kayl. It transpired the woman had crashed her car prior, damaging both wheels on the driver’s side. Officers noticed the woman seemed intoxicated and conducted a breathalyser test. They went on to confiscate the woman’s licence after it was discovered she was well over the legal limit, and also issued a fine.

A patrol in Luxembourg City came across a driver passing through a red light on Avenue Marie-Thérèse at around 5.30am. Upon pulling the driver over, officers established that he had no valid insurance and was also driving whilst over the alcohol limit. They confiscated his licence on the spot.
