While July and August were still rather disappointing, the figures were up in September, writes Fedamo, the Federation of Automobile Distributors and Mobility, in a press release. 4,073 vehicles were registered in September, an increase of 23% compared to the same period in 2019.
The annual figures are not as satisfactory. At the end of September, 34,000 vehicles had been registered in Luxembourg since the beginning of the year, which represents a drop of 20% compared to the same period last year. These losses are obviously being attributed to the lockdown.
Electric vehicles represent 4.3% of new registrations since the beginning of 2020, and hybrid cars 12.2%. These figures are clearly on the rise, even though petrol and diesel powered vehicles still account for the vast majority of new registrations.
