The affair dates back to 2016, where a couple was found dead after being poisoned by a family member. The latter, a 26 year old policeman, is accused of having used a poison he ordered on the Internet.
The 30 year old sister and her 31 year old husband were visiting the accused and consumed a drink the policeman had spiked with a deadly dose of cyanide.
The accused, who had sworn he had only wanted to take revenge on them by making them very sick, allegedly only discovered the true effects after the two victims had drunk the concoction. This explanation did not convince the lower courts during the first trial, who pointed to the existence of an inheritance. The man was sentenced to life.
