Just in time for the hot weatherVianden swimming pool reopens with increased emphasis on safety

After several chaotic weeks, Vianden's swimming pool appears to be running smoothly again.

The swimming pool was subject to a large-scale construction site and has since reopened. The pool's management has updated safety measures and fixed technical issues, thus allowing locals and tourists to make the most of the cool swimming pool.

The pool's re-opening is certainly timely, with Luxembourg experiencing another heatwave. Reopening for this week was indeed the goal of the pool's management. The swimming pool was due to open last Wednesday, but a defective pump delayed those plans to Saturday.

Water parks and other awesome pools in LuxembourgOn Tuesday, the municipality confirmed that they awaited approval before opening on Saturday and that the safety measured were up to date. Over the two weeks that the pool had been closed, the municipal authorities had reworked many issues.
Some employees even claimed that more had happened in the past two weeks than in the past few years. One employee explained that the pool's search for a swimming supervisor had taken priority over a number of procedures, as the search had been ongoing since the middle of 2018.

Last week, the swimming pool hired a distinguished and qualified swimming supervisor who will supervise the safety of the entire site. For 48 years, the safety of swimming pools fell under the jurisdiction of lifeguards, which conformed to legislation until the 2012 grand ducal regulation. Since then, supervision has passed back to swimming instructors.

The first weekend that the pool reopened saw around 1,300 individuals visit the pool. We can expect numbers to remain high as the swimming pool will prove a nice way to cool off from the heat.
