According to Statec, 95% of households with children own "at least one car" in Luxembourg. A much higher average than that of households without children (81%).

Of course, to state that there is a clear link between cause and effect would be to draw hasty conclusions.

In the study, the National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies further revealed that, on average, families with children spend €1,650 on fuel compared with €1,295 for those without children.

This difference is underscored by general spending figures: households with children spend 7.9% per capita of their income as opposed to 3.4% to those without.

The conclusion seems logical: families living in Luxembourg with children consume more fuel. But is it as simple as this? Give your opinion below.
