Only one reactor at the Cattenom nuclear power plant is currently still operational.
Production unit number 1 was shut down as a precautionary measure during the night from Friday to Saturday due to drought conditions and the low water level of the Moselle river.
The plan'’s operator, EDF, confirmed the shutdown over the weekend. Two additional reactors at the Chooz nuclear power plant, located on the French-Belgian border, were also taken offline for the same reason.
Reactors 2 and 4 at Cattenom are already out of service due to scheduled maintenance work.
