Unlike traditional social or dating platforms, new app Eat No Solo prioritises simple, spontaneous human interaction in a safe setting. "It’s different becaus, in dating apps usually you look for the one... but here you are just looking for quality time with someone over a meal or a drink", Shniderman explained during the interview.

The concept is intentionally straightforward. Users receive just two matches per day, avoiding what she described as the fatigue of "endless swiping or chatting." Instead, they can propose a specific plan, for example "I want to meet at 10 o’clock on Saturday in the bake, you place it on the map, someone can see it and say I want to join this person."

Initially conceived for expats and business travellers, the idea has since broadened to include anyone seeking real life connection. Shniderman, who co-administers one of Luxembourg’s largest Facebook expat communities, said this experience highlighted how vital in-person interaction is, particularly in a region with a highly international population.

The app also addresses a common social barrier. "Many people don’t go out simply because they don’t have company", she noted, adding that she hopes to "solve this problem." Importantly, there is no pressure for connections to continue beyond the meeting, users can simply share a meal or drink and move on.

Safety remains a core principle. Meetups are restricted to public venues, which Shniderman described as "extremely important". The model also offers benefits to local businesses, allowing cafés, restaurants, and bars to promote special offers or make their spaces available directly through the app.

Eat No Solo launched just four weeks ago and is currently focused on Luxembourg, Saarbrücken, and Trier, although it is technically available across Europe. Built with the help of friends, the project carries a personal significance for Shniderman, who described it as a "true passion project" developed over time after first conceiving the idea during the Covid period. She admitted to moments of doubt along the way, but said encouragement from her business partner, saying "it’s now or never", pushed her forward.

The app is available on both Android and Apple devices, and Shniderman remains closely involved in its development, personally responding to user feedback and technical issues.
