E-scooter rider suffers life-threatening injuries after late-night crash near Waldbillig

On Friday at around 12.45am, two young people were riding a scooter in the direction of Waldbillig when they lost control and one of them fell. The injured rider was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the e-scooter was confiscated. Investigators also established that the two had been travelling at significantly excessive speed. A report has been drawn up.

In light of the incident, police have taken the opportunity to remind the public of the rules governing the use of e-scooters.

250 kilograms of cannabis seized by officials at Luxembourg Cargo Center

  • Last week the public prosecutor’s office announced the seizure of 123 kilograms of drugs at the start of March. On Good Friday, they announced a further seizure which took place on 6 March.
  • Officials intercepted a delivery from the USA marked as a package of bath towels. Inside they discovered 253.77 kilos of cannabis, valued at around €1.5 million.
