With a new album imminent, RTL Today Radio nabbed Zac Lawrence – frontman of the rhythmically raucous rock outfit DEADLETTER – for a word or two on what awaits fans and newcomers alike. Along the way, Zac delved into the DEADLETTER’s influences, its unique live show, and the ceative processes of the six-man outfit that fuel the band’s eminently catchy sound.

But even though their second studio album, Existence is Bliss, has been in the works for months, time seems to be a fickle thing. “The weird thing about being in a group”, Zac told RTL Today Radio host Tom Einarsson, “is that a year’s not really a long time anymore. Before I know it I’m looking back at everything that’s happened and it’s November and there’s not really any time for anything else to happen.”

Ahead of the release on Friday, 27 February, DEADLETTER released some four singles: all moodily groovy (and groovily moody) tracks that incorporate catchy rhythms into a fresh, post-punk inspired sound. If the album features more of the soaring, atmospheric vistas of tracks like Among Us, fans of both band and genre are in for a great time.

Zac and the band will be embarking on a tour in support of the album across the UK and Europe. The closest tour destination to the Grand Duchy will be at the Artheather in Cologne, Germany, on Wednesday, 25 March.

Regarding the future, DEADLETTER frontman Zac said that he’s unsure – but added that he’s “excited by that uncertainty”. With a new album imminent and a continental tour coming up, the near future certainly looks exciting. “I don’t know which way things are going to go, how things are going to be received. I think that’s a great place to be in. Just check in with me in two weeks and then you’ll see!”
