The competition was held Sunday 28 April in Pontevedra, Spain.
Juniors had to run 5km and cycle 20km, before ending with another 2,5km run. The competition was close, and Daniëls missed third place by a mere 24 seconds, with Laura Duran Morote (Spain) finishing before her in third place. First place went to a Sclabas Delia (hailing from Switzerland) while Italian Costanza Arpinello came second.
Nevertheless, Daniëls delivered an impressive performance during the Duathlon juniors at the World Championships.
