Considered to be a major success in 2019, Luxembourg Open Air is back for a sophomore outing in September.
Artists thus far confirmed include: Quintino, Michael Calfan, Justin Mylo, Danko, Smack and Iceleak, with many more tba.
Over the course of two days 12 renowned international DJs and 25+ local artists will perform a mix between EDM music, Deep House, and Tech House.
This year’s festival line-up will be released in two phases, with each phase containing six headliners, three of which are performing on Saturday and three of which on Sunday.
How soon after last year’s success were you planning for 2020?
We basically immediately started planning for 2020 after the first LOA edition was over. On the one hand we saw that after the success of the first edition people definitely wanted a second edition. On the other hand the DJ line up needs to be planned and confirmed many months in advance.
Were you always set on September?
Yes we were. The weekend after the Schueberfouer is a great date to celebrate the summer one last time before going back to school.

Do you consider yourself lucky given the current situation, it could be that you have the BIG ‘break free from the outbreak’ party?
No, I don’t think lucky is the right way to put it. Our main priority is the well being and health of the visitors, artists and staff at LOA. That’s why we are in constant exchange with the authorities to make sure LOA can take place as planned and no one is at risk.
In this difficult period we want to give people hope that better times will come and that we will be able to celebrate life all together at the end of the summer.
What guidelines are you working under for possible delays/cancellations?
If the event cannot be held due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LOA will be postponed to a later date within a one-year period. In this case all tickets will stay valid and people will have the possibility to attribute a new name to the ticket or resell it.
Has COVID affected your planning?
The Coronavirus has affected and keeps affecting everyone, including the whole music and festival industry. In our case, many adaptations had to be made to make sure the logistical and organisational side remains operational over the next months. The entire team is working hard to make LOA 2020 the positive event that everyone deserves.
When will the full line up be announced?
This year the LOA line up will be announced in two phases. The first phase announcement as of today includes 6 international headliners: Quintino, Michael Calfan, Justin Mylo, Smack, Danko, Iceleak. The second phase will also contain 6 big names and will be released at the beginning of summer.
If people want to stay up to date on the different announcements we encourage them to follow our social media channels at @LuxembourgOpenAir.
