The unfortunate case of a national holiday falling on a weekend can be disregarded as the celebrations of the day eclipse a day off (maybe not quite...). A country that was one of the founding fathers of the European Union and basically the geographic centre of the continent has plenty in store for the day. On Saturday, 9 May, Europa Experience Luxembourg will celebrate Europe Day from 10am to 6pm, marking the 76th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration. Held at the European Parliament’s visitors' centre on 17 Av. John F. Kennedy, the event offers a chance to explore EU languages, gain insights into the union's agenda, discover career opportunities, and engage with the theme of unity in diversity.

The fifth edition of the highly popular Messtival returns to Reckange-sur-Messe this weekend and visitors can expect a whole host of cultural experiences. Some of Luxembourg's most renowned artists will grace the stage in the south of the country, such as: Maz Universe, de Läb, Mutiny on the Bounty and many more. The festival is not just limited to music, with numerous stands and workshops scattered around the festival site, not to forget the copious amounts of food from around the globe.

To mark 30 years of inclusion, Fondation Autisme Luxembourg is hosting the FAL Village at Place d’Armes this Saturday, 9 May. Open from 10am to 6pm, the event invites the public to discover the foundation's work through an information village with themed tents, meet the team, and enjoy a full day of activities for all ages, including concerts, a photobooth, face painting, and a sports course. The pinnacle of Luxembourg's basketball season is upon us, following a long year two teams have reached the best of five finals series: Etzella Ettelbruck and Sparta Bartreng.
