The first phase of the Pétrusse valley's new look should be complete by 2023, ranging from the Grund neighbourhood to the Adolphe bridge.

The renaturing works should last around 600 working days, City of Luxembourg mayor Lydie Polfer revealed at a press conference. The valley's redevelopment should be complete by January 2024, in time for the LUGA horticultural exhibition.

At the press conference, the mayor, accompanied by Minister for the Environment Carole Dieschbourg, revealed that a total of 160 trees would need to be felled. The two officials highlighted that the project would be of an immense scale. Ultimately, the valley will be transformed from a wild valley into an orderly park with a leisure zone.
