The Economic Committee approved 47 of the 51 applications for short-time work for August 2026. According to current estimates, this would affect around 2,855 full-time equivalent positions (ETP), significantly more than the previous month (1,925 ETP).
For April 2026, 36 companies made use of short-time work. This affected 894 employees, equivalent to 218 ETP. The cost to the employment fund amounted to €712,613.
The Committee also approved four applications for tax exemptions on dismissal and departure compensation, affecting 29 employees.
The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for 25 August 2026 at 9am.
