Thirty activists pitched their tents on Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes in the capital last night, targeting the Chamber of Deputies in order to send a message to its occupants. "You're sleeping inside,so we're sleeping outside", they proclaimed, sharing their frustration at inaction against the climate crisis.
The protesters ranged in age from 15 to 60 years old. They also lit candles in homage to victims of climate change.
This action concluded a day of climate protests. A week after students took to the streets for the first Fridays For Future march of the new term, and in a week marked by speeches at the UN and other calls to action by Swedish activist Greta Thunberg, participants in the "United for Climate Justice" demonstration led no fewer than four marches on Friday.
