Police were called to a domestic violence incident in Esch at around 10.45pm on Saturday. Upon arrival, officers found a man at his partner’s residence, despite an active restraining order prohibiting him from being there. The individual refused to comply with police instructions and exhibited aggressive behaviour, forcing officers to physically restrain him and place him in handcuffs.
Despite being restrained, the man continued to act aggressively both during transport to the police station and once inside the facility. During the altercation, two officers sustained minor injuries. The public prosecutor's office ordered that the man be detained and barred from returning to the vicinity of the residence. On Sunday morning, he appeared before an investigating judge. Police have also filed a report against him for resisting arrest and making death threats.
