'Special mission' on behalf of Ministry of Foreign AffairsAir Rescue evacuates Ukrainian refugee from Poland

On the orders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one of Luxembourg Air Rescue's ambulance jets evacuated a person from a Polish city near the Ukrainian border on Saturday morning.

According to a statement published by Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR), the team flew from Findel Airport to Lublin, a Polish city 600 kilometres west of the Ukrainian border. Once on site, the LAR mission team first administered medical treatment to the Ukrainian refugee, as the required treatment could not be provided on site.

After returning to Luxembourg, the patient was transferred to the Centre Hospitalier de Luxembourg (CHL).

The mission was carried out in cooperation with the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
