
On Thursday evening, a home owner from Ettelbruck caught a thief breaking into his house in Rue A Stackels. Upon his return, the owner noticed that a window had been smashed and he saw that the thief was just about to climb back out with his dog. The culprit was arrested at the scene and brought in front of an examining magistrate by order of the prosecutor's office.
Shortly before midnight, a pedestrian was attacked by an unknown person in the Gare district in the capital. The victim then followed the attacker after contacting the police, who managed to arrest the suspect at Place de Paris. Officers found that the man did not have a residence permit and that all his identification documents were forged. The man was therefore presented to an examining magistrate later on.
On Friday, a con artist managed to steal cash from pedestrians in the capital by pretending to dance innocently while diverting their attention. The victims later noticed that money had disappeared from their pockets and thus contacted the local police department. An investigation into the matter has been launched.
