The Chamber of Deputies gave the attorney and specialist in family law 49 of the 54 valid votes.

Dr. Jean-Marc Cloos received just five votes.
Du Bois, who is also vice president of the advisory board of human rights in Luxembourg, was put forward by the Green Party and will replace René Kollwelter on the council.
