The driver of the van, which had French license plates, fled the scene of the accident in the direction of Differdange centre.
The police have now issued a call for witnesses in relation to this collision. People with information on the fugitive driver may contact the Differdange police department via phone (+352 244 53 1000) or via email (police.differdange@police.etat.lu).
