The Luxembourg-based cargo airline extended its network in 2019 and added Santiago de Chile and Jakarta to its destinations.
According to a press release issued by the company, the overall industry shrank by some 3.9% due to "softening markets, unresolved trade conflicts, and uncertainties surrounding an agreement on the UK’s exit from the EU." Cargolux beat the trend to some extent, only experiencing a 2.1% contraction. Worst hit out of the top-10 was Korean Air (-8.5%) and Lufthansa (-7.9%), while Turkish Airlines (+11.7%), Fedex (+4.7%), and Qatar Airways (+0.5%) saw growth.
Cargolux, which was established in 1970 by Luxair, now boasts around 2,200 employees.
