The Luxembourg-based cargo airline made a net profit of $769 million last year, up from $20 million in 2019. The rise in profits in 2020 is explained by the fact that the offer of available transport services has not kept up with demand, which has increased margins. The 2020 result surpasses all Cargolux results since the airline's inception.
At the presentation of its 2020 results, Cargolux confirmed the appointment of Christiane Wickler, a businesswoman and former MP for the Green Party (Déi Gréng), as its new chairman of the Board. She is the first woman to hold this position and succeeds Paul Helminger, who died a fortnight ago.
