Following the resignation of Gilles Zeimet, Carlo Blum is set to take over as acting director of the National Audiovisual Centre (CNA) for the coming months, the Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday.
Blum, currently deputy director of the Luxembourg National Library (BnL), will head the CNA from 1 May to 31 October. A permanent director is to be appointed by the end of that period.

Blum has been with the BnL since 2000. Notably, he launched the IT processes used to archive Luxembourg's heritage with the help of technology. The government argues that his experience makes him the right person to further the development of the CNA. Blum is also expected to work closely with the steering committee responsible for overseeing the CNA's fulfilment of its missions.
Gilles Zeimet recently stepped down as CNA director following sharp criticism of the cultural institute.
