Job marketChamber of Employees concerned about increase in youth unemployment

RTL Today
Youth unemployed increased dramatically in 2020. In May 2020, about 59% more young people were looking for work compared to May 2019.

While the situation improved towards the end of the year, the National Employment Agency (Adem) still reported figures that were 20% higher compared to the year before.

Nora Back, the president of the Chamber of Employees, stated that the situation was already "hard enough" for young people last year.

According to Back, their generation must be "protected" and guaranteed the possibility of good education and training. This is why the Chamber of Employees proposes to uphold the current measures, which for instance include a grant for companies offering vocational training, during the upcoming school year.
