Alles op de VëloCycle between Mamer and Mersch on Sunday

RTL Today
The route between the two cities will be closed to regular traffic.

Between 10am and 6pm, families can cycle and walk on the 17,3km stretch between Mamer and Mersch without having to worry about cars or buses skimming past them.

The "Mouvement Ecologique" and their regional branch "Miersch an Ëmgéigend" together with the towns of Mamer, Kopstal, Mersch and the "Lëtzebuerger Vëlos-Initiativ" organise the cycling Sunday.

Starting points are close to the stations of Mamer Lycée and Mersch, so visitors can easily and comfortably reach the event by train. Transport of bikes is free on the CFL trains, but space is limited. Along the way participants will pass several villages where cafes and restaurants offer refreshments.

Free Coding Service

In addition, the police are offering a very particular service on Sunday: free coding of your bicycle, scooters, skateboard or any other soft forms of transportation. This coding allows the police to register your item in a database, making it easier to be tracked when stolen, and even scare off potential thieves in the first place.

A number is engraved in the frame of the bicycle. Although this will be permanent, it does not affect the frame's strength or stability. Coding is not possible for carbon materials or metal frames with either very thin walls or chrome parts.

To be eligible for a code, however, the owner must live in Luxembourg.
