
The president of the CGFP shared his surprise at the payment of dividends by the bank BGL BNP Paribas to its shareholders while BIL announced that it intends to sell its shares in the capital of Luxair and thus leave the airline’s staff out in the cold.
Wolff stressed that his trade union had signed the tripartite agreement in solidarity with the workers concerned. He now asks “everyone” to show solidarity.
The tripartite agreement provides for the postponement of the wage indexation expected in August 2022 to April 2023. The lowest salaries in particular will be able to benefit from compensations such as tax credits.
In contrast to the CGFP and the Luxembourg Confederation of Christian Trade Unions (LCGB), the largest trade union in the private sector, the Independent Luxembourg Trade Union Confederation (OGBL), has rejected the agreement and is planning a “fierce” demonstration on 1 May.
