On Friday afternoon, a bicycle owner reported his missing bike to the police. It had been parked on the Route de Luxembourg in Wasserbillig, in eastern Luxembourg. However, the police later found the bike on Rue de Strasbourg, near the train station in Luxembourg City, more than 35 km from where it was reported stolen.
The bike was equipped with an AirTag, a small tracker that allows you to find lost items using an app on your phone, and was quickly located.
"Further investigations revealed that a potential suspect was in the vicinity", police stated in their report on Saturday. A patrol went to the scene and intercepted the individual. A search of the suspect later led to the seizure of "a significant quantity of cannabis and hashish."
The man was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor and brought before an investigating judge.
