Criticism from GreenpeaceEnvironmental organisation accuses compensation fund of greenwashing

RTL Today
The Luxembourgish compensation fund, which manages the country's pension reserves, is being accused of having invested large sums in the coal industry.

Greenpeace released a press statement on Wednesday morning, in which it criticises the fund for having invested 256 million euros from its 19 billion reserves into coal businesses. Moreover, the budget that had been reserved for sustainable investments had been misused for the same purpose, the organisation alleges.

Greenpeace demands that the country's politicians act immediately and pull investments from businesses that pollute and destroy the environment.
