Fire and rescue teams from Esch-sur-Alzette, Kayl, Schifflange, Mondercange and Belval were called to the site of the fire.

There was another fire fighting incident in Pétange. A rubbish bin caught fire, also causing material damage. The Pétange-Käerjeng fire crews were called to the scene.

Elsewhere, further accidents took place on Luxembourg's roads overnight. A motorist lost control of his vehicle on Rue de Clervaux in Breidfeld at 2.10am, crashing into a wall in front of a house and suffering injuries. Another person was injured on the A4 towards Esch-sur-Alzette, near the Foetz exit, when a car flipped over at 2.30am.
The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps also reported a collision between two cars at 5.30pm on Friday. Two people were injured in the accident, which took place on the RN6 between Mamer and Capellen.
