After a speech from Jos Tholl, visitors were able to see the first photo exhibition in the St. Anne boarding school on Saturday. Afterwards, visitors were invited to walk through the high street where military vehicles were presented. People in uniforms were also present to answer poetntial questions.
Another photo exhibition, which included original letters and posters, could be visited in the community hall. Books about war and gadgets could also be purchased.
On Sunday morning, the mayor received the invitees and the reception was followed by a religious ceremony at Ettelbrucks church.
General Patton's grandchild also took part in the celebration and inaugurated a memorial plaque for general Patton, together with the American ambassador.
Afterwards, flowers were laid down at the monument for the dead. A procession walked through Ettelbruck on Sunday afternoon, and was followed by a concert of the US Army Band.
