The fire broke out around 7.20pm in the back kitchen of a restaurant, emitting strong amounts of smoke.
Extinguishing the fire proved to be a challenge for fire fighters, who had to use two approaches to tackle the blaze.
Officers entered through a side street and through the building's basement, equipped with heavy duty respiratory protective gear.
In total, seven fire engines, two rescue vehicles and two ambulances attended the scene.
