The 33 year old had a hearing with the investigating magistrate for abuse of weakness (referred to as 'abus de faiblesse').
Following the hearing, he was put in detention and remains there a week later.
After the initial news of the accusation, RTL received a confirmation of the events by da Mota's lawyer, Roy Reding.
The public prosecutor, Martine Solovieff, then reacted to claims by Reding that somebody in the legal system had leaked the news about da Mota. She called for him to provide evidence of his allegation.
So far, Reding has not responded to Solovieff's request.
